TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"The War Machine" Rhino vs. "The Icon" Sting (c)

Sting will retain.
This must be one of the most under-hyped matches in TNA history it feels more an after thought to the other 2 main events.

THE REMATCH
TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett vs. Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle

Angle will win.

TNA has done a great job on building this match it is has built up really well and Jarrett and Angle's promos have been some of the best these 2 have cut in years.

MICK FOLEY'S IN-RING RETURN
Mick Foley, AJ Styles & Brother Devon vs. Legends Champion Booker T, Kevin Nash and "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner

Foley, Styles, and Devon for the win.

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Beer Money vs. Abyss & Matt Morgan vs. Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed(c)

I'm going for Beer Money to regain the titles.

TOURNAMENT FINAL TO CROWN A NEW X CHAMPION
Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley

Homicide.
Odds are after either Sabin or Shelly wins the match and becomes the new X-Division Champion Homicide will cash in his FoF case and become the new Champ.

TNA KNOCKOUT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - LUMBERJACK MATCH
To Be Determined vs. (c) Awesome Kong

Kong will retain.
Christy Hemme was supposed to be in this match but apprentaly she hurt her neck while training and has been sidelined for a quite a while. As too who Kong will face my guess is Sirelda (she teamed with Styles & Daniels to face AMW and Gail Kim a few years ago) who has been rumored to be returning to TNA. Hopefully she will look more femmine this time around.

GRUDGE MATCH
Referee Shane Sewell vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir

Sewell for the win.

TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"The War Machine" Rhino vs. "The Icon" Sting (c)

This match has zero hype to it. Okay, maybe they had a quick build up video on Impact, but that's it. Sting wins because no one cares about this match. Let's get back to AJ v. Sting.

THE REMATCH
TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett vs. Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle

Jarrett wins because Angle is insane. Literally. Angle sucks. I want Jarrett to win.

MICK FOLEY'S IN-RING RETURN
Mick Foley, AJ Styles & Brother Devon vs. Legends Champion Booker T, Kevin Nash and "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner

Foley, Styles, and Devon. I'd be surprised if it went the other way.

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Beer Money vs. Abyss & Matt Morgan vs. Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed(c)

Lethal Consequences. I love that team name. It just sounds awesome.

TOURNAMENT FINAL TO CROWN A NEW X CHAMPION
Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley

If Shelly doesn't win, I riot.

TNA KNOCKOUT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - LUMBERJACK MATCH
To Be Determined vs. (c) Awesome Kong

I really hope ODB is the replacement. But whoever it is won't win so let;s say it's actually gonna be Taylor Wilde who gets squashed back to the indies. Taylor, you suck. get off my TV you boring bimbo.

GRUDGE MATCH
Referee Shane Sewell vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir

Sewell for the win.

TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"The War Machine" Rhino vs. "The Icon" Sting (c)

Sting will retain w/ Assistance

Yes, this match has been Underhyped, but you have to think about it. Rhyno is trying to climb up the ladder, but the owner of TNA, Jeff Jarrett is in his own match. Of COURSE this is underhyped!! COME ON!!!

THE REMATCH
TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett vs. Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle

Jarrett if it's a fair fight.

I can see the Mafia coming in and REALLY interfering in this one.

MICK FOLEY'S IN-RING RETURN
Mick Foley, AJ Styles & Brother Devon vs. Legends Champion Booker T, Kevin Nash and "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner

I'm going to go one step further and say Foley, Styles and Devon win, with Foley getting the pin on Booker. This match has been LONG since due, especially with Mick Foley. He NEEDS to get back into Wrestling, and it's MY personal belief that the Hardcore Wrestling needs to return PERIOD.

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Beer Money vs. Abyss & Matt Morgan vs. Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed(c)

I honestly wish to see someone OTHER than Beer Money Inc. win this damn match, but knowing how they play, I see Beer Money winning with assistance from Miss Jackie.

TOURNAMENT FINAL TO CROWN A NEW X CHAMPION
Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley

Ok, honestly, I think Suicide's gonna screw this whole thing up, and then I'll laugh......Hard....

TNA KNOCKOUT WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - LUMBERJACK MATCH
To Be Determined vs. (c) Awesome Kong

Kong Retains because she's gonna squash.

GRUDGE MATCH
Referee Shane Sewell vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir

Sewell for the ULTIMATE win. Sheik Abdul Bashir is REALLY good with his gimmick right now, and just about everyone hates him, and has been behind Shane Sewell for the longest time. I think Sewell's gonna be a permanent wrestler, not a referee much longer from what Jim Cornette said.

Offical results from TNAWrestling.com

Quote:
- In a bonus bout, the team of The Latin American Xchange and Eric Young won a six man tag team elimination match, beating Jimmy Rave, Kiyoshi and "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt. Hernandez last eliminated Jimmy Rave to win the bout.

Fun opening match the ending seemed a tad over-the-top with Hernandez beating all 3 X-Division guys by himself. If TNA wants to make Hernandez seem like a credible heavyweight contender then he needs to fight heavyweights and not X-Division guys. 3 out of 5

Quote:
- Alex Shelley became the new TNA Wrestling X Division champion, beating fellow Motor City Machineguns tag team partner Chris Sabin in an amazing tournament final. However, Shelley faked an ankle injury in order to get the quick pin, something that may not sit well with Sabin.

This match is tied with Jarrett/Angle II as the match of the night. Shelly showed just how good he is and Sabin as well. This was "old school" X-Division action at it's very best. 5 out 5

Quote:
- In addition to Christy Hemme's injury, it was announced that Kevin Nash would be unable to compete tonight due to a staph infection. Also, Rhino hadn't arrived at the arena yet.

Bunch of random backstage drama.

Quote:
- Referee Shane Sewell beat Sheik Abdul Bashir after Earl Heber helped Sewell get the win. After the match, the other TNA officials celebrated with Sewell.

Definitely a fun bout Sewell showed potential and Bashir got a lot heel heat. Not awful but not a classic either. 3 out of 5

Quote:
- Beer Money regained the TNA World Tag Team Championship in a three-way match over the teams of Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed and Abyss & Matt Morgan. Miscommunication by Morgan and Abyss (Abyss accidentally hit his partner with the TNA Tag Team Title) led to Robert Roode getting the win over Morgan in the end. Following the bout, Abyss and Morgan almost came to blows, but cooler heads prevailed.

This match would probably have been better if Morgan and Abyss had not been in it. Outside of Lethal, Creed, and Abyss making a Roode, Jackie, and Storm sandwich (which was pretty funny), and Morgan getting KOed by Abyss with an errant belt shot that allowed Morgan to be pinned they didn't do anything else other than stand around. I think Morgan should be renamed "Glass Head" because I'm beginning to think that you could hit Morgan with a feather and he would be down for a 3 count. 2 out of 5.

Quote:
- In the back, Kurt Angle admitted to Jim Cornette that the Main Event Mafia attacked Rhino earlier that day at the hotel. Rhino's whereabouts were still unknown.

More backstage drama.

Quote:
- Due to a neck injury that will require surgery, Christy Hemme was unable to compete for the TNA Women's Championship. As a result, a Knockout Tag Team match was held with ODB, Roxxi and Taylor Wilde vs. Rhaka Khan, Raisha Saeed and Sojournor Bolt, with the winner earning a Women's Title shot. ODB ended up getting the pin on Saeed, thereby winning a shot at Kong's gold. After the bout, Kong came to the ring and joined the rest of her alliance in annihilating ODB, Roxxi and Taylor!

You have to give it too these 6 women they went out and had a fairly good match not a great match by any means on fairly short notice. I like Saeed's new ring attire and think she should have won the title shot.
2.5 out 5

Quote:
- In a bloody, violent, chaotic and emotional bout, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle defeated TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett in their epic rematch, held under no disqualification rules. It was an all-out brawl, with Jarrett taking everything Angle could punish him with, including a steel chair and an Olympic Slam off the entrance ramp through a table! In the end, Jarrett (bloodied and barely able to walk) attempted to cover Angle, but the Olympian reversed it into a backslide for the win. After the bout, Angle continued to attack Jarrett and trapped his ankle in the steel chair while he stomped on it! Jarrett was taken from the ring on a stretcher by EMTs.

If their first bout was a wrestling match this was an absolute war, with a lot of emotions and some really sick spots. If this was the second one I wonder how they're going to top it in the third one? Which we know is coming. 5 out of 5

Quote:
- In the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match, "The Icon" Sting successfully defended against a bloodied and battered Rhino, who had been attacked earlier in the day by members of The Main Event Mafia and was able to make it to the arena just before the bout. However, Rhino was beaten down by the champion, who eventually got the win with the Scorpion Deathdrop to retain the gold!

This match was a major letdown. The fans chanted for Sting and booed Rhino who had to sell that he was injured to cover the fact that Sting was the one really injured. Their match on Impact was better and this one seemed to be an afterthought to Jarrett/Angle 2 and the 6 man tag. 1 out of 5

Quote:
-In the main event, TNA Executive Shareholder Mick Foley made his successful in-ring return by teaming with AJ Styles and Brother Devon to defeat Scott Steiner, Booker T and Kip James (subbing for Kevin Nash). Foley got the win in the bout, beating Scott Steiner in the end. At one point, the referee stopped the match and ordered a double-countout, but Mick Foley restarted it under hardcore rules! (via his power as Executive Shareholder).

Of all the great talent on the TNA roster the MEM pick Kip James to sub for Nash. If Nash wasn't bad enough who have a guy that is actually worse than Nash sub for a main event match. This match was lame at the start Foley's restart and making it a hardcore match saved it as did Styles frog splash on Kip through a table. It was better than the Sting/Rhino match but not by much. 1.5 out of 5.

Final thoughts: TNA Genesis ranged from great to poor in matches. If the last two weren't "main events" it would have helped but with a lot of injuries and some questionable endings. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't a great either. Overall rating: 2.5 out of 5.
