BIO:

THE BEGINNING

Karl "Karl Baller" Johnson was born on a cold autumn night, October 27, 1986 to Linda and Joseph Johnson, in their house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had a rough childhood being raised in the projects of South West Philadelphia, always witness to basically every crime any man could think of. By the time KB was 8, he and his older brother, CJ Johnson, had begun to act just like the other bad kids on the block. He started beating other children up for stupid reasons, cursing out his schoolmates, and even got suspended from school for calling a child a b***h. It seemed KB would go on to be one of those children that wouldn’t make it in life, but on 3/7/1994, a young KB’s life changed…. forever, he came downstairs and heard his father screaming “COME ON RAZOR MOOOOVE!!!!” when he made it to the TV, he saw Shawn Michaels jumping off a ladder and landing onto Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X. Baller’s mouth dropped wide open and from then on he knew that he wanted to be a professional wrestler one day.

For the next 5 years Baller became wrestling’s #1 fan, practicing and watching it every chance he got (usually WCW, ECW, or WWF). At age 15, Karl and his brother CJ, under the influence of their Uncle Tyrone, began to get into the rap game with dreams of one-day becoming hip hop superstars and getting out of the “hood”. Tragically, that dream came to an end when their Uncle was shot and killed 7 months later. Baller then began to focus more on his old dreams (wrestling) after he heard about the local underground wrestling federation that an esteemed mob boss had started up about 4 years ago that would have about 3 shows and a huge one to end fueds. It was in a gym in South Philadelphia called SWA (Street Wrestling Alliance).

THE STREET WRESTLING ALLIANCE:

After a year of wrestling training, at age 16, KB made his debut with his big brother CJ as “Da Ballin Boyz” in the SWA tag team division on 11/01/03 with a win over Keenan & Khalil Simmons. The BB’s were considered the perfect team of power and speed (Baller the quick and agile of the 2 while CJ was the powerful strongman). BB’s became a dominant team in the division and were finally were recognized as champions by winning their first tag titles on their mothers birthday (1/27/04) from Chris Pollard & Bashir Nolman. Sadly at the huge show, “Hustla’s Anthem” (Free Per View…lol) 3 days after they won them, they lost the titles to Pollard and Nolman after 10 mins of hardcore nonstop action. Tension started to grow btw the brothers since Karl was the one pinned, CJ believed KB was the weak link of the 2. The tension then disabled finally when “Da Ballin Boyz” regained the tag titles and held on to them for 2 whole months. On one of the weekly showings, CJ was defeated by the “All about the Benjamens” tag team for the SWA tag titles and got angry Baller didn’t make the save.

He stood up and spit on his right hand, then did his famous pimp slap on KB, then followed up with his finishing maneuver, “Da Double Shoti” (Muscle buster). The 2 met up the next week with CJ Baller winning the match by hitting KB in the head 3 times with a trash can and using a “Double Shoti”. “Da Ballin Boyz” era had come to an end and CJ took advantage of that by winning the SWA middleweight title 2 weeks later. With his morale sunk low from leaving his brother, KB began on his singles career trying to bounce back and show the world he didn’t need CJ. After 3 months of gaining a great win/loss record, Baller reached the top of the mountain by winning the SWA championship in a “Warehouse match” (first person to leave the warehouse wins) from the champion, Deuce “Ace” Wilee on 8/11/04.

During the match, Deuce had picked KB up and threw him into a cracked wall, the wall broke and KB fell out of the Warehouse thus becoming the SWA champ. He gave Wilee a rematch the next night and defeated him cleanly in a great bout. For 4 months, KB stayed on top of the mountain, taking down every superstar that challenged his title, even his own brother fell to KB’s hands. Unfortunately, one of the big promoters that were supporting SWA financially, was captured and received the death sentence for a murder charge he never committed. It was announced that the SWA would be closing down immediately and all titles would be defended on 12/21/04. The huge showwould be named “SWA Forever” and a special guest was rumored to show up.

“SWA Forever” came and to everyone’s surprise “X-WCW” superstar “D-Extreme” was at the show (since they were in town for a house show at the time). The show went through smoothly and the main event was probably the best singles match in SWA history. SWA champion Karl Baller vs. Deuce Wilee one last time for the SWA title. The match took 60 minutes and featured magnificent stunts pulled by both superstars, but KB managed to retain his title by hitting his #1 Single and getting the 1…2…3. The SWA fan’s cheered as the whole roster came out and embraced one last time. That night while KB was walking home, a limousine pulled up next to him and KB stopped looking at the ride. The window opened and D-ex’s faced popped out. They began to speak and D-ex recommended KB to head down to the X-WCW HQ and become apart of the roster.

“We are searching for new talent at the X-WCW and what I saw tonight has showed me you are some of the talent we are looking for. Think about it and head down the HQ in Indiana if you decide to take the offer.” D-ex told Baller. With that said, D-extreme left the area and KB went home with a lot of things on his mind. He told his siblings what had happened and CJ told him not to be stupid and accept the offer. Baller told his older brother “Why da hell would I join da “X-WCW? I ain’t never heard of dem. I’m vicious enough to join da WWE and become world champion by now, why would I join some low card, no money making fed like da X-WCW!?”

CJ told his dumb younger brother how big the X-WCW was around the Indy’s and said they are all about skill and use their talent to their full potential. After a long talk, Baller decided that he would as soon as he finished high school. Baller decided to get some practice in while he was finishing high school, joining an Indy fed in New Jersey and wrestling dark matches (losing most of them). When Karl finally got his high school diploma (got it early thanks to attending several extra credit classes), he took a plane (ticket provided by X-WCW) and flew down to “X-WCW” headquarters to take up on D-EX’s offer.

X-WCW Singles Run: Worst Debut Ever?:

On 1/8/05, Baller arrived with high hopes of becoming the proverbial “Next Big Thing” in wrestling. He went straight to the head quarters and started learning the ropes of being a real professional wrestler. Finally, the wait was over when he graduated in what is classified as the best rookie class so far, with himself, TGO, TRD and other heavily used superstars. On 5/1/05, Karl “Da Kid” Baller made his debut in a huge wrestling business. He cut a slightly average promo, accepting a “Bar Room Brawl” challenge that another rookie (TRD) had made during the night.

Karl lost the match, but had a chance to redeem himself at Doubleshot 11...against then X-WCW Ultimate World Champion Divebomb. KB wrestled a great match and almost pulled the upset, but was sadly defeated. He got another chance at the biggest stage of X-WCW, the Starcade Series in battle royal for #1 contendership to the U.S. Title. KB was elimintated in the final three and began the wrost record of X-WCW to date. Seven was the number, seven straight times Karl Baller had left the ring with his head down low thanks to a loss.

"I swear, I would work hard and work out every day and it was still no avail. It was crazy, it was like everyone was 20 times the wrestler I could ever be." The more and more he entered the ring, the more he would be emebarrased. Karl even lost to a debuting Antonio Australian Awesome, something that he would never forget. It was said that after Triple A won a match he participated in, KB went back to Philadelphia. He skipped a few house shows, but when he came back he was an entirely different man.

On an episode of Nitro, Karl Baller defeated Triple A to gain his first win as an X-WCW wrestler, "Da K.I.D" took out the Australian by displaying all of his finishing moves and finally showing the world that he could be a succesful X-WCW superstar without his partner The Great One's help.

The Thrillaz: Thrill Of A Lifetime

During Karl Ballers horrendous losing streak, he did have one win where he and TGO defeated veteran X-WCW tag-team Starstorm. KB never counted it though since he was handled during the whole match and TGO picked up the slack and won. That was the beggining of TGO and Karl Baller.

It was KB's first taste of real success came when he decided to enter the X-WCW tag team division. The partner of his choosing, good friend Andrew "The Great One" Radon (TGO for short). "TGO was my homie at first, I ain't gonna lie. We started really chilling together in the XWA and became road buddies, it basically gelled from there." The two superstars, who were thrown together one night during an XWA show of Eternal War, worked together so well as a tag-team that management had to throw them together.

At the time, TGO & Baller were new to the business, but they were growing faces that changed that looked to be the future "tag-team" of the company. "Man, after the first tag match we just kept going on and on. We never lost a match together until the XWA made me go heel. I remember being in the office telling them, it would be a 'Thrilla' to work with TGO. They laughed and said we should call ourselves 'The Thrillaz'...boom instant tag-team. Actually, during the OWF fusing angle, XWA managemant wanted us to face the OWF tag-team champions. If we won, which we woulda, have a title unification match at the pay-per view. We were that good, and it was so early in our careers."

Sadly enough, the XWA ended up closing down, but it did not stop The Thrillaz from competing elswhere. The Thrillaz joined forces in X-WCW also, first defeating former tag champions Starstorm in order to get into the X-Rumble at Ground Zero III. "We actually weren't gonna tag up out here. Management just saw how hot we was and said f*** it let em join up." It was a very strange pairing though, people who did not watch the XWA couldn't make it out."

Why would relentless jobber Karl Baller, join up with a sure to be future X-WCW world champion, the rookie of the year, TGO? That was a question asked all over the world, until critics watched TGO and KB enter the ring. "Many people said it was like we knew each other for years, our chemistry was outstanding. The innovative double team moves, the classic promos, people wanted to know how the hell two people who just joined up were able to put so much in the business."

It was a beautiful sight to behold. TGO, at the time, was considered better, but many people argued that his "lesser partner" was in fact much better than him. They even displayed their tag skills during Ground Zero III where KB & TGO worked together in the X-Rumble (Otacon still won) After the X-rumble, the two superstars began tagging together. They defeated PowerBomb & Starstorm in a triple threat tag team match, but then lost to the unlikely tag-team of Sean Byrne & Tyler Sutton thanks to Starstorm's help.

"The next night was great, it was Blood Bath III. The Nitro when we defeated Starstorm & Powerbomb, Final Frontier came out and challenged us and Powerbomb to a TLCC match for Blood Bath III. Starstorm got themselves into the match on the next show, but still it was a big point in my career. That was one of the greatest feelings I ever had, we earned worked hard and we finally got noticed. When Bloodbath III came, we won the tag titles. After that match though, TGO was never the same towards me. I was the one who pulled the titles down and won the match, I guess he got jealous."

TGO became jealous. He had gained a notority for being very self centered in wrestling (UCW explained it all). "I think that the writers noticed tension and made us lose the titles early. We were going to have a longer reign than one title defense thats for sure." Within the next couple of weeks, TGO and KB began to show cracks in their team, similar to the ones that all great tag teams did before an eventual split. While as a team, Karl Baller went on to defeat TGO for the vacant X-WCW United States title, while TGO lost to Rocky "Real American" Davis.

The two then ended up getting a chance to qualify for the 2007 X-Rumble, a match where the winner gets a shot at the World title at Starrcade. The show before, during their qualifier, TGO betrayed KB and messed up both their chances to win the match, but all was not lost. "That was easily the worst part of my career man. TGO was my homie and he threw it all away for something stupid. I was in more pain than anything, we were like brothers."

It was announced that 2 people who lost qualification would get another shot to qualify for the X-Rumble at the ppv itself! At the X-Rumble ppv, KB got his revenge as both he and his former partner were chosen, this time on opposite ends of the ring. KB and his partner, R.E. Rage were able to defeat The Real Deal and The Great One. Shortly after, TGO was released from the X-WCW roster.

"We fell apart because of his greed and jealousy. I think if he didn't do what he did, we would be tag champs today."
